Nino Kipshidze (ნინო ყოფშიძე. 1958) is a contemporary artist, a textile sculptor. While studying Art History in Tbilisi State Academy of Art, she already had a special interest in textiles and expression through this medium, creating her first pieces in the 1980s.
Nino’s works explore different genres of Still life, landscape and figurative compositions.
In 1997, Nino Kipsidze’s work was first showcased in Belgium, where she was commissioned for the exhibition. There she met other Georgian artists working in the same medium and shortly came up with the idea of founding a Georgian Textile Group.
