MELAANI CHURCH

The Church of the Mother of God (მელაანის ღვთისმშობლის ეკლესია) sometimes referred to as the Trinity Church is located in Melaani Village in the Gurjaani Municipality of Kakheti Province. The church was built in the late eighteenth century. It has an elongated plan, with a nave and an apse of the sanctuary inscribed in an outer rectangle. In 2007, the roof of the Melaani Church was restored, and a two-story bell tower was constructed to the south of the church.
