LEVAN MANJAVIDZE

Levan Manjavidze (ლევან მანჯავიძე - 1977) was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. After graduating from Tbilisi Institute of Theatre & Cinematography, he specialised in traditional renaissance painting techniques in Florence, Italy. In Levan 2003-06 studied at Utrecht school of fine arts in The Netherlands. From 2007 Levan Manjavidze lived and worked in Berlin, Germany, where his was cofounder of several experimental projects and participated in Neukölln’s vibrant underground art scene. Since 2017 Levan is based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Considering painting as an anthropological science, Levan focuses on representation of human beings, most of the works are oil paintings and photomontages. Levan’s works were shown worldwide in extensive solo and group exhibitions and are held in numerous private collections, as well as art institutions.
